Gaps in Artificial Stone Industry in China

Comparing domestic and foreign artificial stone industry, there are four gaps in domestic artificial stone industry:


I. Lack of Independent Innovation Ability in Industry

First of all, in the past two decades, the production equipment and technology of artificial stone have been monopolized by Italy. Advanced production technology and equipment are the basic guarantee for the development of enterprises. The backward traditional processing technology is difficult to support the needs of enterprises in the fierce market competition. Before the 21st century, the technology and equipment of artificial stone in China were still quite backward. The weak technical strength of enterprises and backward production equipment are the fundamental reasons for the slow development of China's artificial stone industry. In order to develop, many enterprises have introduced production equipment from abroad. The cost of production equipment imported from abroad is high, but more importantly, it is restricted by others, because the core technology is in the hands of others. Specifically, there is a lack of initiative in equipment updating and upgrading. What is the equipment on the supplier's side and what is the equipment on the importer's side? If the importer wants to update and upgrade, he can not update and upgrade until the supplier has developed it. It is always led by the nose. For this reason, enterprises must be independent, independent and innovative technology, so that the industry can develop and grow.


Secondly, some old enterprises in China lag behind in R&D technology seriously, and their ideas remain in the 1990s. The real expression is that the products developed are more and more not in line with the taste of modern people, resulting in unsalable products. Therefore, enterprises should not only increase R&D efforts, but also grasp the context of the times, so as to make R&D products suitable for the development of the market.


2. The neglect of market cultivation

Overseas enterprises have independent ability to develop their own unique varieties, exchange with each other, and constantly innovate. The outstanding performance is that many production lines can coexist and flourish among Italian manufacturers. Everyone does not imitate each other, but only exchanges of experience. Although the ants outside died, a large part of them survived. The second is "crab hook leg", which is about a crab who wants to climb ashore when he sees the beautiful scenery outside. When it stretched out one leg, the other crabs grabbed it desperately and dragged it down. These two fables deserve our deep consideration: how does our artificial stone industry develop? Are they like "ant clubs" or "crab hooks"? The development experience of many industries in China tells us that it is impossible for an enterprise to make long-term profits by imitating other people's varieties, but it should focus on researching new varieties, cultivating market and further replacing them. Imported man-made stone products, to ceramic tile, natural stone market, rely on continuous innovation to enhance the competitive advantage of enterprises.


3. Lack of investment in high-tech development

With the rapid development of artificial stone industry abroad, it has come to the road of artificial quartz. Artificial quartz is a rapidly developing and hot-selling variety in the granite industry. It is understood that this product is mainly used for various countertops, especially kitchen panels. Synthetic quartz producers are found in Italy, and Spain also has two such producers. At present, Turkey, Czech Republic, Belgium, Oman and other countries also have such factories. In Asia, they are mainly distributed in Korea and Vietnam. So far, there is no professional and large-scale manufacturer of synthetic quartz slab in China. The development of the industry is slow, and still stays on the production of artificial marble.


The rapid development of this industry abroad is mainly due to its high technology content and willingness to invest in R&D. It is precisely because of this that the pace of development is so rapid.


IV. Insufficient Intentional Introduction of Technical Talents

Many foreign stone-making enterprises focus on training talents and spend great efforts and money to cultivate them. However, many domestic enterprises are digging up talents indiscriminately and do not pay attention to the input of talents, which causes serious chaos in the talent market and damages the interests of other enterprises and job seekers. The development of science and technology depends on the progress of talents. To cultivate talents attentively will make them have a sense of belonging gradually, so that they will do everything for enterprises more attentively and more down-to-earth.
